CASE STUDY:  MANAGING THE HEADLINE AREA ON A HOME PAGE

The "Latest News" area on a website's home page provides a good example of the sort of dynamic content that can be easly controled by a data-driven website.

The Southwest Regional Cup needed an effective way to keep their drivers informed of upcoming events, race results, rules updates and the latest news, so a headline area was implemented at the top of their homepage which scrolls through the latest news items.

Since these news headlines were to change regularly, a simple browser-based method for updating the headline entries was provided, allowing the client to self-manage this area of their website without having to know HTML or pay for additional web development.

Using their web browser, the client logs into a secure management area for their website and is presented with an easy-to-use web form for entering the data required for a new headline entry.

Existing headline entries can be modified or deleted using a simple point and click interface, and all changes are maintained by an underlying database.

When a browser arrives to view the Southwest Regional Cup home page, the latest headline entries are retrieved from the database and presented to them at that moment, ensuring that visitors always see the latest information.

Similar easy-to-use web forms are provided for managing information such as race results and press releases on other parts of the Southwest Regional Cup website.

This concept of having dynamic content on a data-driven website puts the client in control of their website and makes updating it easy and affordable.  Please contact Zilko Web Solutions to find out how dynamic content can be used on your website.
